Jamii ya sinema.club and “B as Plan B” invite you to a three-day event featuring an exhibition, film programmes, screenings, a performance, and presentations and discussions with invited artists and guests. Organised in collaboration with Cabane B*, Cinema Rex and Lichtspiel/Kinemathek Bern, the programme will take place both on location in Bern and on the online platform jamiiyasinema.club as a translocal extension.

Jamii ya sinema.club is a platform for discussion and collective research devoted to film cultures and the arts of the moving image, which aims to contribute to debates on past, present and future developments in these expanded practices from a tropical, decolonial position. By making the film society an object of artistic speculation, the project experiments with this form and put into practice its potentialities as an assembly and a joyful celebration.
Jamii ya sinema.club was initiated by Maria Iorio/Raphaël Cuomo with Jackson Bukasa, Melissa Jina, Fils Ngeleka, Bibatanko Tankama and Lucrezia Cippitelli, artistic director of Ateliers Picha and curator of the Lubumbashi Biennale #7.
B as Plan B is the second season of artist Alizé Rose-May Monod’s curatorial project for Cabane B* in Bern–Bümpliz Nord.
